Fear

Fear is a very powerful emotion. In most martial arts or self-defense programs, the issue is never addressed. In our women’s self-defense programs, we deal with fear and the adrenaline rush that accompanies it by focusing your training to work in concert with your emotions.

The adrenaline rush has severe effects on us both physically and mentally:

  • It limits our cognitive (reasoning) thinking
  • Fine motor coordination is minimized – gross motor skills remain
  • Peripheral vision is lost
  • Heart rate increases, breathing becomes short, & rapid, feel weak, develop body shakes
  • Many experts in the field of Adrenaline Stress Response Training agree that most people are only able to recall four or five techniques or steps to effective self-defense while under the duress of an attack.

This is why our women’s self-defense training programs and RAD classes deal directly with the fear response (adrenaline rush) in training and shows you how to:

  • Train to develop muscle memory thereby responding via instinct
  • Utilize gross motor skill responses
  • Create awareness response to focus on surroundings – not targeted line of vision
  • Utilize Simulation to re-create high stress attack scenarios
  • Why not come try one of our classes today? As the saying goes, the only thing you have to fear is fear itself. See you in class!
