A recent Mother Jones article http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2016/10/why-are-women-thrown-jail-after-theyre-raped-or-assaulted reports on courts assessing a "victim assessment fee" that fines victims of domestic violence if they do not help law enforcement prosecute their alleged abusers.
