Decide to Survive

When dealing with a criminal confrontation, the sole goal is survival. It’s not about how many punches can you land, how many “points” you can score, how tough you are or how long you can go toe to toe. It is about survival and escape in whatever forms that may take given the situation presented to you.

To help you with this concept we give you the acronym for SURVIVAL as utilized by our military.

  • Size up the situation, surroundings, physical condition, equipment.
  • Use all your senses.
  • Remember where you are.
  • Vanquish fear and panic.
  • Improvise and improve.
  • Value living.
  • Act like the natives.
  • Live by your wits.
