Welcome to the Women's Self-Defense Institute

Women's Self-Defense Institute provides realistic, effective self-defense training for today's busy female.

The mission at Women's Self-Defense Institute is simple - empowering you to fight back against crime.

How?

By providing you training and education in:

  • Awareness
  • Prevention
  • Risk reduction
  • Risk avoidance; and
  • Self-realization of your own physical power
  • These tools greatly increase your personal protection options to combat crime.

The paradox of self-defense is that the more prepared you are, the less likely you are to need it. When you can recognize and respond effectively to potentially dangerous situations, you are more confident in your every day activities. You are also less likely to become a target of crime.

At Women's Self-Defense Institute we assist women in three ways to combat crime:

    1. Educating the mind
    2. Training the body, and
    3. Empowering the spirit

Check out our Crime and Defense Section and our Statistics on Crimes Against Women pages if you're looking for information on:

  • Various components of crime
  • What makes a criminal strike
  • How to recognize potentially dangerous situations, and
  • Tips on how to "target-proof" yourself
  • Our Resource Guide section is for you if you're looking for:

  • National support groups for female crime victims
  • New Jersey local support groups
  • Personal protection suppliers
  • Self-defense trainers, or
  • Recommended reading / CD library
  • We continuously update our site as new agencies and groups committed to supporting women fighting crime are created.

Are you searching for general information such as?:

  • Safety
  • Crime
  • Self-defense options, or
  • General women's self-defense articles

  • Then visit our Articles section. We're always updating information on how to combat crime at all levels. Check back with us often.
